

Though they also took the opportunity to have the Predators interact with their own, short-lived superhero universe in the Dark Horse Heroes line. The Aliens and Predator licenses were held by Dark Horse during this time, making it easier for them to feature crossover stories with other characters licensed by the publisher, like Tarzan, Buffy & Terminator.

Following that, the Predators would hunt heroes from other universe – including Dark Horse’s own superhero universe – and the Aliens would make their jump to the DC Universe in 1995 when they met Superman. By the ‘90s, intercompany comics crossovers were all the rage and Batman become the first to be targeted by a Predator in 1991. A year later, they battled it out in Aliens vs Predator #1-4 and Dark Horse realised they were onto something. Dark Horse Comics picked up the licenses for Aliens and Predator in 1988 and, in 1989, decided pit them both against each other in Dark Horse Presents #34-36.
